What are Cu Chi tunnels?

You know,  during the Vietnam War, from the French colonial period to the American invasion of Vietnam, the Vietnamese used a very effective way to fight and hide when the enemy attacked, that is using Tunnels. From the South to the North there are many tunnels, some of which are used for living and used to avoid bombs every time the enemy attacks but many tunnels have been upgraded and used for war. Cu Chi tunnel is one of the very famous places used in the war and it is one of the very important lands used by the Vietnamese Communist Army to fight against France and the American Empire.

Today, although the war is no longer available, the tunnels are still maintained and open to tourists from all over the world to visit as a historical relic and a very hot outdoor museum. Come to your tunnels, you will not stop being surprised

You will always wonder why humans can do such wonderful things that people can live underground for so long, you will wonder could a small nation be able to fight back to a very powerful military force at that time. In today's tour, we will explore all of that together and we will make sure you will be extremely excited to join our tour program.

The itinerary of  CU CHI TUNNELS 1 DAY TOUR from HO CHI MINH CITY

Morning — Hotel Pickup & Countryside Drive

8:30 AM — Your guide and private car (SUV or minivan) pick you up from your hotel in central Ho Chi Minh City.

Travel out of the city toward the countryside, passing through lush rice fields, rubber plantations, and vegetable farms.

Along the way, your guide will share stories about rural life in Vietnam and point out scenes of local farms, daily life and the natural landscape — a chance to experience how people live outside the city.

You’ll also have opportunities to stop for photos of the scenic countryside.

Midday — Exploring Cu Chi Tunnels

Arrive at Cu Chi, where you begin with a documentary film about the Vietnam War — focusing especially on the years 1960 to 1972, and showing how the tunnels were dug and used.

After the film, you’ll explore the site: walk through the main gate, see traps (on trees and under the ground) used during wartime, and visit reconstructed areas including weapons-production zones, soldiers’ resting quarters, Viet Cong meeting rooms, underground hospitals, and ventilation shafts.

If you want, there is the option to go to a nearby shooting range to fire an AK-47 or M16 (or machine gun) — for those interested in a “wartime-era” experience.

Lunch & Return Journey

After finishing at the tunnels, you’ll return to the parking area and enjoy lunch.

Then the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City begins — via peaceful village roads, giving more chances to absorb the countryside scenery.
